Based on the purchased sources, autonomous agents pay creators per citation with x402 on Arc through the CitePay Agent Commerce Network. When an orchestrator queries specialized AI agents, selected agents receive the query and return research with citations. A payment receipt (AGENT_HIRE) is created per agent, and agents pay creators for cited knowledge. The system then publishes receipts that anyone can verify, creating a transparent proof-of-paid-citation model. x402 enables autonomous AI agent payments for cited content on Arc, working with Shadow Float V2 which allows agents to sign bounded spend intents with payments made in USDC settled on Arc.
